Brief introduction.
ereeniging lies on the northern banks of the Vaal River on the main Johannesburg-Cape Town route. The area is lush and offers many water sport activities. There are also Stone Age rock paintings to be seen at Redan, just outside town.
One of the Anglo-Boer battle sites is nearby, at Witkop. The name means "unification" and was the place where the Boer generals met their British counterparts on May 2, 1902 to sign the Treaty of Vereeniging that officially ended the second Anglo-Boer War. The museum contains not only relecs of the war, but also a few fossil plants that were found in the area, which is known for its rich coal deposits.

Cruising.
Unconfirmed reports of cruising at the following places:
Dickenson Park, Vereeniging - next to Yskor on the banks of the Vaal River. Reportedly very cruisy and glory hole. Be careful of cops.
Gauteng Municipality Offices, Vanderbijlpark - toilets at town centre at are very cruisy.
Phoenix Park, Danie Theron Street, Vanderbijlpark - reports of cruisy park, but be careful of muggers.
