Nylstroom, Northern Province
Brief introduction.
ylstroom is situated on the south-eastern edge of the Waterberg plateau. This friendly, picturesque town founded in the 1860s by the Voortrekkers who left the Cape and British rule in search of the Holy Land. Known as the ‘Jerusalem Travellers’, they discovered a stream which they thought to by the Nile River and found conditions favourable and was convinced to stay. The town is the commercial centre of the Waterberg plateau and a popular tourist destination with its attractive surroundings and excellent facilities.
