The Garden Route that starts in Cape Town and runs all the way up the coast towards the north coast officially ends here and the Western Cape's dramatic mountain ranges that characterise most of the coast line also end here and temperatures are also higher now. The African savannahs that characterise the bulk of the southern African landscape start here.
